About me

Hello, my name is Aleksandr and I'm a QA Engineer. I'm very focused on results and like to pay attention to small details. I really enjoy testing software and making sure it works well for users. I'm a motivated person who learns quickly, even when there are tight deadlines. I can work alone or in a team, and I like solving problems. In commercial projects, I have learned how to work with others and take responsibility. I also use JavaScript and Python to create automated tests and improve testing processes. I'm open to both full-time employment and B2B contract options, depending on the company's needs. I am also comfortable with remote, hybrid, or office work formats.

Medical Doctor (M.D.)
My background as a certified medical doctor gives me a strong advantage in QA for healthcare projects. I understand not only how the software works but also how it should support real medical processes. This helps me see risks that others might miss — like incorrect data flows, misleading UI in medical apps, or non-compliance with industry standards.
This combination of domain knowledge and testing skills allows me to validate healthcare products more thoroughly. I know how important accuracy is when people's health is involved — and I bring that responsibility into every test case I write and every bug I report.
ISTQB Foundation Level
Coming from a medical background, I deeply understand the importance of professional certification. In healthcare, having up-to-date qualifications is not just a formality — it's essential for trust and safety. I apply the same mindset to my work in QA. That’s why I decided to pursue the ISTQB Foundation Level certification — not only to improve my knowledge, but also to show my commitment to high standards in software quality. For me, it's not enough to just do a good job — I believe it's also important to prove it with recognized credentials.
Beyond QA
Alongside my interests in testing, other interests and hobbies are:
- Long-distance running
- Riding a bicycle
- Traveling
- Cooking
- DIY projects
Dear Hiring Manager
Thank you for taking the time to look at my page.
I created this website to show my interest in the position of Manual and Automation QA Engineer and to present myself in a more personal way than with a regular CV. This project also helped me improve my understanding of how websites are built — working with HTML and CSS gave me practical experience with page structure and UI behavior.
I have more than five years of hands-on experience in manual testing. Even with this background, I regularly join bootcamps and internships to grow my skills in areas outside my daily routine. For example, I recently completed a 2-month internship focused on mobile testing, which gave me deeper knowledge and more confidence in testing mobile platforms.
In my current role, I'm part of a development team and take part in planning, estimating, and organizing the testing process. I enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, and I always aim to improve the quality of the product. I learn fast, stay calm under pressure (thanks to my previous career), and I'm not afraid to step outside my comfort zone to grow professionally.
Please see my resume for more details. I would be happy to talk more about my experience and how I can contribute to your team. Thank you again for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Aleksandr Chikurov
